We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Nurse Manager, Accident & Emergency (A&E) to lead and oversee the operational, clinical, and service excellence functions of the Emergency Department.
The incumbent will ensure the delivery of safe, efficient, patient-centric emergency nursing care while driving high standards of operational performance, patient satisfaction, and multidisciplinary collaboration in a fast-paced private healthcare environment.
This role requires strong clinical expertise, exceptional leadership capabilities, and a commitment to delivering a seamless patient experience aligned with private healthcare service standards.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical & Nursing Leadership
Provide leadership and oversight for all nursing operations within the A&E department
Ensure delivery of safe, evidence-based emergency nursing care
Oversee patient triage, clinical assessment, escalation, and emergency interventions
Ensure compliance with emergency care protocols and clinical governance standards
Lead response coordination for critical and urgent cases
Operational Excellence
Manage daily A&E operations to ensure smooth patient flow
Optimise manpower deployment and shift planning
Ensure efficient patient throughput with minimal waiting times
Monitor bed management and admission coordination
Drive departmental productivity and service efficiency
Patient Experience & Service Quality
Champion service excellence standards expected in a private hospital setting
Ensure prompt, compassionate, and professional patient care
Address patient and family concerns effectively
Drive initiatives to enhance patient satisfaction and service recovery
People Leadership
Lead, mentor, and develop nursing teams
Conduct recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and retention initiatives
Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
Support professional development and competency enhancement
Quality, Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure compliance with:
Singapore Nursing Board requirements
Ministry of Health regulations
Internal clinical governance standards
Accreditation standards such as Joint Commission International (where applicable)
Lead incident investigations and corrective action implementation
Drive quality improvement initiatives and audit readiness
Financial & Resource Management
Manage departmental budget and resource utilisation
Oversee procurement planning for emergency equipment and consumables
Ensure cost optimisation without compromising care quality
Requirements
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (required)
Postgraduate qualification in Nursing Leadership / Healthcare Management preferred
Registration
Registered Nurse with valid practising certificate from Singapore Nursing Board
Experience
Minimum 8 years of acute nursing experience
Minimum 4 years in emergency nursing
At least 3 years in a managerial / leadership role
Prior experience in private healthcare or premium service environments preferred
