Operating Theatre Nurse

The Staff Nurse is primarily responsible for the delivery of quality nursing care to patients in the Operating Theatre. The incumbent is expected to maintain nursing care standards and ensure compliance with the hospital’s quality systems, policies, and procedures.
The role involves supporting surgeons and the multidisciplinary team in ensuring safe and efficient perioperative care within a fast-paced operating theatre environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide professional perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures
Perform scrub and circulating nurse duties during operations
Assist surgeons and anaesthetists during procedures
Ensure proper preparation and readiness of operating theatre equipment and instruments
Maintain accurate nursing documentation and patient records
Ensure compliance with infection control, OT standards, and hospital SOPs
Monitor patient safety and wellbeing throughout perioperative care
Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
Support emergency and ad hoc surgical cases when required
Collaborate closely with doctors and multidisciplinary teams to ensure smooth OT workflow
Requirements
Degree / Diploma in Nursing
Registered Nurse with valid practising certificate from Singapore Nursing Board
At least 2 years of Operating Theatre / perioperative nursing experience preferred
Experience in scrub and circulating nursing advantageous
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities
Able to work rotating shifts, weekends, and public holidays
Candidates able to commence work immediately will have an added advantage
Preferred Competencies
Knowledge of perioperative nursing standards and sterile techniques
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail and patient safety awareness
Service-oriented and patient-centric mindset
